Salvador’s HOPE is a Christian not-for-profit organisation based in Melbourne, Australia. Salvador's HOPE was founded in 2009 by Vania and Chris Labios in response to the growing need of women and children living in poverty in El Salvador.
Vania, having left El Salvador as a child during El Salvador's tumultuous civil war in the 1980s, felt compelled and called in 2009 to respond to the plight of the most vulnerable living in extreme poverty, El Salvador's women and children.
Vania and her husband, Chris, set out to make a difference. Through Salvador's HOPE formed partnerships on the ground in El Salvador with like-minded reputable organisations who shared the same heart and vision of seeing men, women, and children set free from the injustices of poverty.
Over the years, Salvador’s HOPE has grown with the help of a valuable supporter base, and its vision has gained momentum, enabling Salvador’s HOPE to facilitate poverty alleviation projects in El Salvador.
Vania and Chris are supported by a great network of highly skilled people, Pastors and respected leaders in the community who make up Salvador's HOPE Board.
In 2009 Salvador’s HOPE was registered as an Incorporated Association with Consumer Affairs Victoria and, in 2019, joined in a fruitful partnership with Ordinary Heroes TM.
Salvador’s HOPE maintains financial accountability and Fundraising permit through the Australian Charities and Not For Profit Commission – ACNC submitting all financial records on an annual basis for transparency.
